Philippe Albin de Buncey (1905-1978) Born in Paris, student of the sculptor Paul Navellier, Philippe de Buncey specializes in wood carving and animal art.
In 1930, he joined the Society of Animal Painters and began exhibiting his graphic and sculpted works at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon d'Automne.
These are the glory years for animal artists following the colonial exhibition of 1931 which presents the exotic and colorful fauna of distant lands.
In 1937, on the occasion of the Arts Technique exhibition, he was awarded a silver medal.
